SHEET SORTING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet sorting device and an image forming device having a short time required to initialize the position of a tray when the power saving mode is disengaged.

SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 is equipped with a sorting part 80 having a plurality of trays 81-86 movable and as a sheet sorting device to sort the sheets whereon images are formed and can work in a power saving mode in which power supply to an image formation part 10 and/or the sorting part 80 is interrupted when an instruction for image formation has not been given for a predetermined time. Further this can work in the first mode which is for initializing the tray position in the sorting part and therefor the tray is moved to the home position and initialization is made using this position as the reference and the second mode in which the position immediately before power supply is stopped is stored and initialization is made using this position as the reference, and the initialization of the tray position when the power saving mode is disengaged is conducted in the second mode.
