PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion cylinder of an oil burning appliance wherein good heating with far-infrared ray and near-infrared ray mixed is fulfilled by simple construction. SOLUTION: The cylinder comprises at least an inner cylinder 11 and a middle cylinder 12 having a number of small apertures 17, 18, 20, an outer glass cylinder 16 on the outside thereof, and an outer cylinder base 13 for mounting of the outer glass cylinder 16. An upper end of the outer glass cylinder 16 is supported by an outer cylinder holder 20 connected to an upper end of the middle cylinder 12. An intermediate part and an upper part of the middle cylinder 12 facing the outer glass cylinder 16 are formed with a glowing portion 19 wherein the small apertures 18 have an opening area larger than the small apertures 17 in a lower part. The cylinder has far-infrared ray radiation means 29 outward of the outer glass cylinder 16 facing an upper part of the glowing portion 19. A great deal of far-infrared ray can be surely generated in concentration. Good heating with far-infrared ray and near-infrared ray mixed is obtained, and the cylinder has high usability.
