PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caliper for a disc brake capable of effectively cooling the caliper by a simple configuration and improving flexibility in design by suppressing the restriction of a position where the caliper is attached to a vehicle. SOLUTION: This caliper 1 for the disc brake is constituted in such a way that a main body 2 having leg parts 9, 10 arranged on an inner side and an outer side of a brake disc D rotating together with wheels of the vehicle and a bridge part 11 for connecting the leg parts on the inner side and the outer side across an outer peripheral part of the disc D is supported on the vehicle through a mounting member 12. The caliper has the following features. That is, it is provided with an external air introduction port 4 opened in the direction of rotation of the wheels and introducing external air flowing in the direction of rotation in accordance with the rotation of the wheels while the vehicle runs into the caliper 1, an external air exhaust port 6 for exhausting the external air introduced through the external air introduction port 5 out of the caliper, and an external air flow passage 6 communicating the external air introduction port 4 with the external air exhaust port 5 and circulating external air.
