<p>A signal recording/reproducing apparatus (1) that retrieves, from recorded video and/or audio signals, a user’s desired reproduction position for reproduction, comprising a characteristic-vector generating part (30). During recording of video/audio signals, the characteristic-vector generating part (30) generates characteristic vectors that characterize the video and/or audio signals. These characteristic vectors are also recorded in a recording part (10). During reproducing of the recorded video/audio signals, a registering part (40) registers therein, as a bookmark, a characteristic vector in the vicinity of a position designated by the user. When the user designates any one of the bookmarks, a coincidence detecting part (60) retrieves, based on the characteristic vector of the bookmark and the recorded characteristic vector, a coincident position. A reproducing part (20) starts the reproduction of the video and/or audio signals from a reproduction position that is established, based on the coincident position, by a reproduction point deciding part (70).</p> |
