PURPOSE: A wrong operation detecting device of a clutch for a washing machine and a method thereof are provided to prevent wrong operation and damage of the product by detecting the abnormal state of the clutch with sensing re-acceleration of the motor after finishing braking, and to improve reliability by displaying the operation failure of the clutch. CONSTITUTION: A wrong operation detecting device of a clutch in a washing machine comprises a key input unit(100) inputting demand of a user; a microcomputer(200) outputting the control signal according to the command from the key input unit; a motor(300) and a clutch(400) driven according to the control signal from the microcomputer; a detecting unit(500) sensing rpm of the motor; an EEPROM(Electronic Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory,600); and a display unit(700) displaying messages to the user corresponding to the control signal from the microcomputer. The microcomputer detects braking of the motor in inputting the braking command by the user, and decides failure of the clutch according to re-acceleration of the motor within the reference time after finishing braking. |
