PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To faithfully reproduce color and texture by setting appropriate color data and reflection characteristic data to minute elements constituting three- dimensional shape data in a simple and few works. SOLUTION: The three-dimensional shape data formed by presetting the color data to the minute elements are inputted in a minute element selecting means 12 and a minute element with the light vertically incident thereon is selected as a representative minute element among the minute elements constituting the three-dimensional shape data. A reflection characteristic data set means 13 sets the reflection characteristic data to the representative minute element. The minute element grouping means 14 compares the color data of the representative minute element with the color data of the circumferential minute elements and, when their hue values are approximately equal to each other, collects them as the same group. A data copy means 15 copies and sets the color data and reflection characteristic data, which are set to the representative minute element, to all the minute elements constituting the group.
