PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronization separator circuit capable of stably separating synchronization signals from a composite video signal without being affected by distortion in a transmission line system and noise at a weak electric field strength or the like. SOLUTION: A clamp circuit 30 clamps the composite video signal so that a slice level Vth comes between a pedestal voltage Vp and a minimum voltage Vs of a horizontal synchronization signal 80, a flyback pulse summing circuit 60 adds the clamped composite video signal TV 1 to an inverted flyback pulse FBPB to increase the DC level of the clamped composite video signal TV 1 by the inverted flyback pulse FBPB and a slice circuit 40 detects the synchronization signals after that.
