PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing data of a melody to a radio selective call receiver which enables a user to add and enjoy a new melody as an alarm tone and never bores the user. SOLUTION: When the user of data of a melody selects the data of the melody through a telephone line, the provider of the data of the melody provides the selected data of the melody for the user through a telephone line while adding the code of the data of the melody as shown in Fig. 2 (a) and further the title of the data of the melody as shown in Fig. 2 (b).
