The invention relates to an article of footwear intended to eliminate static electricity from its wearer when the latter is in contact with the ground via the said article. According to the invention, this article comprises two electrically conducting contact surfaces adapted to bear respectively on the ground and under the foot of the wearer, said surfaces being connected electrically via at least one resistance element. According to an advantageous characteristic, it comprises a sole having a core 4 arranged between two sheets, such as an insole 22 and an outsole 23, and the contact surfaces belong to studs inserted in respective openings in these two sheets, in which openings they are at least partially housed, said studs being also at least partially housed in a cavity 261 in the said core. Such articles of footwear are intended to be worn by anyone wishing to eliminate static electricity. <IMAGE>
