<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying control method for simplifying the license management when a digital broadcast distributes digital contents whose copying is not permitted. <P>SOLUTION: When receiving a program (digital contents) whose copying is not permitted, the receiver of this invention acquires a license in a form of a license file in advance to allow only a license server to execute license management. Further, a digital copying control descriptor rewrite and copy control section 205 rewrites a digital copy control descriptor included in the digital contents into a copy enabled state on the basis of the acquired license file. A storage data control section and management section 208 stores the distributed digital contents to a data storage apparatus 209 on the basis of the digital copy control descriptor. On the occurrence of part of data whose copying is failed during data storage, the receiver can acquire normal data from the outside and restore the copy-failed data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
