The invention relates to a method for the online determination of the hydrogen peroxide content in a mixture formed during a chemical reaction. The inventive method comprises the following steps: (1) at least one reagent is added to the mixture containing hydrogen peroxide, forming a substance, said reagent combined with hydrogen peroxide being suitable for the formation of a substance which can be detected by means of optical methods, and (2) the content of the substance is determined by measuring its specific absorption in a wavelength range which is suitable therefor.
