A drive axle for an electrical vehicle, especially a land conveyer has a motor shaft driving a differential planetary stage (14,14').The drive has closed drive shafts and the brake, which acts directly on the shaft, has an operating unit (13,13') with a ball ramp actuator (12,12') which is hydraulically and mechanically operated. An Independent claim is also included for use of the above axle.
