The surface mapping and generation device has raw material recovery devices. A device that is especially for acquiring surface data of teeth has a controller for the automated control of the intensity of laser light employed by the device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a patient data archiving system; (2) a surface mapping and generation method.
