PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality polyester film by improving the processibility by decreasing the occurrence of wrinkles or slackening in the film formation step of a film which comprises polyethylene terephthalate and a thermoplastic resin other than a polyester and has a high dimensional stability. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film essentially contains a polyester mainly comprising ethylene terephthalate units and a thermoplastic resin other than a polyester, and the maximum slope of storage modulus E' at 150°C-210°C in the longitudinal direction of the film, obtained by a dynamic viscoelasticity measurement (frequency: 10 Hz), is 5-20 (MPa/°C).
