PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with which a photographic viewing angle is properly determined even when subject luminance is low. SOLUTION: When a photographer wants to determine the appropriate photographic viewing angle in the case of photographing at night or the like, an auxiliary light emitting part 30 emits auxiliary light according as a zoom switch 21b is operated even when the subject luminance is low and a main subject can not be clearly recognized through a picture display part 8. The subject therefore is illuminated with the auxiliary light, the luminance of the subject is increased, and the clear picture of the subject is visually recognized through the display part 8.
