The hand grenade (1) with controlled fragmentation contains tiny spheres (6) which disperse on explosion, serving as a safety factor for grenadiers who are aware of the sphere maximum range. A firing fuse is eliminated, a simple firing artifice (5,13,10,11) being applied, which frees the grenade, prior to the explosion, of any body or fragment the mass and/or volume of which is equal to or greater than that of the spheres.
