PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the transmission loss of a join part small even if the positional precision of an optical component to be joined is inferior. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a coupling method for an optical transmission line of a join part between optical components 1 and 2 such as an optical fiber, an optical waveguide, an optical element, and an optoelectric element. A transparent member 3 which is transparent to the wavelength of a transmitted signal and laser light for machining is arranged between the optical components 1 and 2 to previously be fixed and joined together. The positions of the optical components 1 and 2 are measured and according to the measurement results, high-intensity ultra short pulse laser 1 light L of≤1 ps in pulse width is used to form a waveguide 4 for optical transmission in the transparent member positioned between the optical components 1 and 2. Since after the optical components 1 and 2 are fixed, the waveguide 4 for optical transmission between the both is formed, a coupling with high transmission efficiency can be performed even if the positional precision of the optical components 1 and 2 is inferior a little.
