PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting a photocatalytic base for clearly distinguishing a portion with a applying film formed thereon and a portion without an applying liquid applied thereto and easily detecting the portion without the applying liquid at low cost in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The photocatalytic base is brought into contact with an aqueous solution containing a metal ion and a reducing compound. The metal ion is preferably a copper ion.
