FIBER ARRAY MODULE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber array module which is simple to manufacture, low in its material cost, secure in its structure and able to enhance the yield of manufacturing. SOLUTION: The fiber array module is formed by using a solder material as an adhesive for a fiber array substrate and optical fibers and fixing the optical fibers to the fiber array substrate. The fiber array module is provided with the optical fibers whose outside surfaces are coated with the solder material, the fiber array substrate and an upper cap which covers the fiber array substrate and the optical fibers placed in the grooves of the fiber array substrate.
