PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a centrifugal separator which can use buckets different in kind by using a common rotor. SOLUTION: The centrifugal separator is fitted with the rotor having a cylindrical body on a bottomed cylinder, a cylindrical shaft protruded from the central part of the cylindrical body toward an opening surface, and polygonal unevenness formed in the bottom surface of the cylindrical body. A swing rotor is fitted to the cylindrical shaft. A specimen is held by a swing bucket supported by the swing rotor. The first mode of centrifugal separation, and the second mode of centrifugal separation by holding the specimen by the buckets which are engaged with the polygonal unevenness formed in the bottom surface of the rotor, positioned independently, and arranged along the inside surface of the cylindrical body constituting the rotor can be implemented.
