The invention generally relates to methods and systems in which audiovisual information is provided to one or several reception systems. More particularly, a method is provided of providing audiovisual information to a plurality of remotely located reception systems (200, 200'), the method comprising: receiving audiovisual information comprising compressed, formatted, time encoded digital data blocks, wherein the audiovisual information comprises audio information and video information and wherein the video information has been compressed using a discrete cosine transform and motion compensation; and transmitting the audiovisual information to the plurality of remotely located reception systems.
