1293567 Mechanical interrupters JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 15 April 1970 [12 June 1969] 29751/69 Heading H1N A contact breaker assembly includes an annular base-plate 11, a plate 13 pivotally mounted on baseplate 11 and having an integral bearing sleeve 16, a body 17 journalled for angular movement on sleeve 16 and carrying fixed contact 35 and a cam follower 38 to move movable contact 34. The movement of plate 13 is limited by screw 15 in slot 14. The movement of body 17 is limited by pin 19 in recess 21, pin 19 being dependent from arm 18 integral with body 17. Body 17 contains a recess 22 housing a capacitor 23, one terminal of which is electrically connected through spring washer 25, metal cover 26 and body 17 to earth and to fixed contact 35. The other terminal of the capacitor is electrically connected through spring washer 31 and conductive terminal 29 to spring 33 and movable contact 34. Terminal 29 is insulated from body 17 by synthetic resin member 27 carrying cam follower 38. In use, the contact gap is set by slackening screw 15 and moving plate 13 and the diaphragm of a vacuum advance capsule is connected to pin 19 to pivot body 17 thereby moving cam follower 38 and contacts 34, 35 relative to the cam-shaft. |
