<p>The installation comprises a steel melt temp. monitor, a mould cooling water inlet temp. monitor, a discharge mould cooling water monitor, a cooling water flow meter, means for determining the thickness fo the solidified shell of the casting mathematically fromt he information supplied by the monitors, control mechanism for the start of pulling the starting head and/or determining the casting pulling speed. The controls permit commencement of withdrawal of cast section at earliest feasible time.</p> |
