PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate having excellent moisture and heat resistance without causing significant decrease in polarizing performance even in a high temperature and high humidity environment by forming an adhesive layer having excellent waterproof property between a polyvinylalcohol polarizing film and a cellulose acetate protective film. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is obtained by providing a cellulose acetate protective film on at least one surface of a polyvinyl alcohol polarizing film via an adhesive layer comprising a resin composition containing a vinylalcoholic polymer and an inorganic layer compound.
