PURPOSE: A method for selecting a menu of a mobile communication terminal is provided to display a menu having the highest frequency by including sub menus, and to light a number key corresponding to a number of the menu having the highest frequency, thereby easily selecting a desired menu. CONSTITUTION: When a menu selection mode is set, a terminal displays corresponding menus, and detects a menu having the highest frequency to display the detected menu(S1-S3). The terminal lights a number key corresponding to a number of the menu having the highest frequency(S4). The terminal confirms whether a predicted menu soft key is selected, and if so, the terminal immediately performs a corresponding function(S5,S6). If the predicted menu soft key is not selected, the terminal confirms whether a soft key displayed in a lower menu region is selected, and if so, the terminal displays a menu having the second highest frequency(S7,S8). If the soft key is not selected, the terminal confirms whether the lighted number key is selected, and if so, the terminal displays sub menus and a number of a menu having the highest frequency as the number key, and repeats the operation or performs a corresponding function when a selection key is inputted(S9-S13).
