ANTIGEN-LOADED CHITOSAN MICROPARTICLES FOR ORAL VACCINATION

The present invention relates to oral vaccines comprising chitosan microparticles loaded with antigenic material of an infectious agent causing respiratory disease in mammals or poultry for combating respiratory infectious disease. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising chitosan microparticles loaded with antigenic material of an infectious agent causing respiratory disease in mammals or poultry, for use in oral vaccines. Also, the invention relates to the use of such chitosan microparticles for the manufacturing of a vaccine for oral application for combating respiratory infectious disease, more preferably of a vaccine for oral application in maternally immune animals.
