PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator having a control means and a structure for improving the food preserving property and user-friendliness of the refrigerator. SOLUTION: This refrigerator having a refrigerating chamber on an upper part of a refrigerator body comprises a plurality of cooling units provided in a refrigerating cycle including a cooler for the refrigerating temperature zone and a refrigerating unit for the freezing temperature zone, and a specified low-temperature chamber which is provided in a refrigerating chamber adjacent to a bottom surface of the refrigerating chamber, and capable of switching the temperature zone to a new freezing temperature zone which is below the maximum ice crystal generation zone and above the freezing temperature zone.
