摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the influence of external light as noise and to increase the use efficiency of light of write light when image data are written to an optical write type spatial optical modulation element. SOLUTION: A photosensitive material which has sensitivity in the infrared range is used as a photoelectric converting material of the spatial optical modulation element and a reflection film which reflects infrared light is provided on one of transparent substrates between which an optical modulation layer and a photoelectric converting layer are sandwiched to eliminate noise light in optical writing. Further, a polarizing plate is provided between a write illumination means for writing an image to the spatial optical modulation element and a read illumination means for reading the written image out to enable the image to be written not through the polarizing plate when the image is written.
