PURPOSE: A jelly-roll type electrode part and a secondary battery employing the electrode part are provided, to prevent the direct contact between a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate in case of the dissolution or shrinkage of a separator in winding or working a battery, thereby improving the stability and reliability. CONSTITUTION: The jelly-roll type electrode part(30) comprises a positive electrode plate(31) comprising a positive current collector and a positive active material layer(31b) optionally formed on at least one face of the positive current collector; a positive electrode tap(34) electrically connected with the current collector; a negative electrode plate(32) comprising a negative current collector(32a) and a negative active material layer optionally formed on at least one face of the negative current collector; a negative electrode tap(35) electrically connected with the current collector; a separator(33) placed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate; and a short circuit-preventing means(38) formed at the part where an electrode tap is formed to at least one electrode current collector between the positive and negative electrode plates. Preferably the short circuit-preventing means is an insulating tape made of a polymer resin.
