The input data (R64,R32), processed with the encryption algorithm, are linked by a secret key (code) determining the encryption algorithm. The data transmission system comprises a device (12) for adjusting to different formats of input data. Preferably the adjusting device is a control line. Alternatively the adjusting device may be a switch. An inductive coupling first transmits energy for increased safety.
