PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a legitimate purchaser of a disk. SOLUTION: This invention provides a management method for a recording disk medium for respectively recording unique identification information and encrypted service contents, a manager for the recording disk medium stores the identification information recorded on the recording disk medium and key information for decoding the service contents, applies collation processing to the identification information provided from a legitimate purchaser of the recording disk medium, decides the purchaser to be the legitimate purchaser of the recording disk medium when the result of collation indicates coincidence, and distributes the key information to the legitimate purchaser. Using a unique ID and a password attached to the disk for collation information can make the manager surely identify the legitimate purchaser of the disk. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
