PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of managing still images by creating a list for grouping still images recorded on a recording medium and using the list. SOLUTION: In a management method of erasing, copying and moving, etc., of a plurality of still images recorded on the recording medium, the still images are recorded on the recording medium and grouped based on the attributes of the still images, a list including file names of the still images belonging to still image groups is created and recorded, and when an instruction of erasing or moving over groups of a still image recorded on the recording medium is received, the file name of the still image is erased from the file name list including the file name of the still image. A still image file management method using such a file name list has an advantage that operations of moving, copying and erasing, etc., of a large number of recorded still images become easy.
