PURPOSE: An agent for treating diabetes using herbal extract of Kalopanax pictus, Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino, etc. is provided, together with a method of producing the same. Therefore, it has an excellent therapeutic effect for treating diabetes. CONSTITUTION: The agent composition for treating diabetes comprises an extract of herbal plants such as Kalopanax pictus, Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino, Euonymus alatus (Thunb.) Sieb and Glycyrrhizae Radix. For an example, 1.5kg Kalopanax pictus, 3kg Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino, 0.5kg Euonymus alatus(Thunb.) Sieb, 0.8kg Adonis amurensis and 0.02kg Glycyrrhizae Radix are extracted in a suitable amount of water by warming up in a double-boiler.
