PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for digital color proof, especially, to stably form a proof image approximate to a printed image including the quality of printing paper by using silver halide color photosensitive material. SOLUTION: In the area coverage modulation image forming method in which dots are formed and a halftone dot is formed as the aggregate of the dots and the color tone of blue (B) is set independently of cyan (C), magenta (M) and yellow (Y), the B is reproduced in color where L* satisfies≥17 and≤50, and a* satisfies≥7 and≤28, and b* satisfies≥-55 and≤-20 in CIELAB color space.
