<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a positive ghost caused by optical memory, in an image forming apparatus that conducts reverse development with an a-Si photosensitive body. <P>SOLUTION: A charge-injection blocking layer 12, a photoconductive layer 13, and a surface layer 14 are formed in a laminate on the surface of a conductive support 11, thereby forming the a-Si photosensitive drum 1. A primary electrification process (a), an image exposure process (b), and a developing process (c) are performed on the photosensitive drum 1, and a pre-exposure process (d) is subsequently performed from above the toner image. Because the pre-exposure is intercepted by the toner, optical carrier generated by the pre-exposure eliminates the effect of the image exposure, and remaining optical carrier is uniformized as shown in (e).
