PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flange back adjusting apparatus which can easily and accurately adjust a flange back of a photographic lens of a television camera, etc., by automatically adjusting the flange back according to a specified procedure. SOLUTION: A subject chart is placed at as a long distance as possible and set within the photographic range of a camera. When the start of flange back adjustment is indicated, the flange back adjusting apparatus automatically sets a zoom to a wide-angle end and a telephoto end alternately, and moves a tracking lens to a focusing position when the zoom is set to the wide-angle end or a focus lens to a focusing position when the zoom is set to the telephoto end. This process is repeated to set the tracking lens at the optimum position and the flange back adjustment is completed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
