<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transesterification, with which a catalyst after reaction completion is isolated and the isolated catalyst is recycled. <P>SOLUTION: The method for transesterification comprises carrying out transesterification in the presence of a gel-like styrene-based polymer or a gel-like polysiloxane-based polymer [A] represented by [PS(polystyrene)-P<SP>+</SP>(Ph)<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CO<SB>2</SB><SP>-</SP>][Zn(OAc)<SB>2</SB>] having phosphonium structure (b) containing structure in which an anionic functional group is coordinated with a metal compound (a) containing a transition metal or the metal of an atom belonging to the group IIB, the group IIIA or the group IVA of the periodic table and then separating the catalyst by filtration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
