PURPOSE: A method for compensating the image distortion of a mobile communication terminal mounted with a camera is provided to compensate the distortion of images photographed by the camera with preset distortion compensating values, thereby transmitting an image almost equal to real one. CONSTITUTION: A method for compensating the image distortion of a mobile communication terminal mounted with a camera includes the steps of capturing images by the camera and storing the captured images to a memory(SP1,SP2), compensating the distortion of the images(SP3-SP5), and compressing, coding and transmitting the distortion-compensated images(SP6,SP7). The captured memory is compared with a reference image stored in the memory to check any distortion is generated. If generated, the distortion is compensated by a distortion compensating value preset according to a photographing distance. The images having distortion is compensated by interpolation carrying out expansion or reduction.
