PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact organic waste treatment apparatus capable of holding a temperature or humidity while suppressing the deformation or abrasion of chips to the utmost, capable of sufficiently stirring organic waste such as excretion or the like, causing no dew condensation and having enhanced safety and a silent design.

SOLUTION: A tank 8 is attached within a main body 2 and a rotary drum 10 in which chips having microorganisms supported thereon are charged is attached in the tank 2 in a freely rotatable manner. Organic waste charged in the rotary drum 10 from the opening part 10a of the drum is rotated and stirred along with the chips to be decomposed.
