PURPOSE: A method for decoding PES in real time for audio/video lip-sync is provided to efficiently match lip-sync by reducing the difference between PTS(Presentation Time Stamp) values due to a time difference between audio decoding and PES decoding. CONSTITUTION: PES data stored in a PES(Packetized Elementary Streams) buffer(100) are read. A PES header combined to the read PES data is searched to detect the length of a PES packet. The detected length of the PES packet is stored in a PES length register(200) to be set up as a register value. ES(Elementary Streams) data of the PES data stored in the PES buffer are read through the set register value. The length of the read ES data is compared with the set register value. If the length of the read ES data is equal to the set register value, the read ES data are decoded through an audio decoder(500). If the length of the read ES data is not equal to the set register value, it is judged whether another PES data exist in the PES buffer. If so, the corresponding PES data is decoded by using a PES decoder(300). |
