PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent resistance to wear for shock and reduce damage of a rope. SOLUTION: An elevator device is constituted by suspending an elevator car 3 and a balance weight 4 from a main rope 2. A rope swing prevention device 10 is provided with mounting members 8 attached in the vicinity of an up and down travel path of the balance weight 4 so as to oppose mutually, a frame 11 provided between the mounting members across a predetermined distance from the balance weight moving vertically in accordance with elevation and lowering of the elevator car, and a first elastic body 12 and a second elastic body 13 applied in double manner on an outer surface of the frame.
