The invention relates to a gate arrangement (1) with a motor driven fire curtain (31) for sealing a gate opening in industrial buildings or the like in case of a blaze, whereby the gate arrangement (1) fulfils fire resistance specifications when acting as a fire seal. A motor-driven fast operation gate (2) is arranged on the side of the gate on which the fire curtain (31) is disposed, said gate being preferably provided with armored slats (21), acting as a regular closure for the gate opening between successive thoroughfares, whereupon the fire curtain (31) and the fast operation gate (2) are guided in a common frame (4) and can be controlled by a common control unit such that they can move independently from each other. The inventive gate arrangement (1) is embodied in such a way that no inflammable objects are present on both sides of the fire curtain (31) inside the fire-load-free area in order to meet fire-protection requirements.The invention makes it possible, for the first time ever, to provide a gate arrangement which can be considered as a fully effective gate closure both in respect to fire protection requirements and fast operation characteristics, said arrangement being both compact and easy to install.
