PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair iron for efficient hairdressing as a hair iron of a type in which hair is rolled around a hair care section for performing hair setting. SOLUTION: This hair iron has a grip 1 and the hair care section 2 attached to the grip 1, the hair care section 2 is bar-shaped and equipped with a heater on its peripheral surface, and hair care such as hairdressing is performed by bringing the hair into contact with the heater. The outer peripheral surface of the bar-shaped hair care section 2 is equipped with a smoothly curved surface 7 of a large radius of curvature and a sharply curved surface 8 of a small radius of curvature.
