PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a round fan which is formed by bonding printed matter, such as paper, to plastic ribs and can be kept perpendicularly erected. SOLUTION: The folding fan which can be kept perpendicularly erected has pairs of handles 2a, 2b and 2'a', 2'b' constructed to extend respectively perpendicularly to the front and rear with respect to a fanning surface 1 near the bottom end of the fanning surface 1 and to be fitted to each other by one projecting part 3 (3') and another recessed part 4 (4') so as to open respectively in A and B (A' and B') directions. Accordingly, while a user is heretofore forced to bend his or her wrist to the inner side to direct the fanning surface of the round fan toward the user, the round fan of this invention faces the direction where wind comes even if the user fans himself or herself in the state of stretching the wrist as shown in Figure 4 and 5 and therefore the wrist is kept free from excess forces and is correspondingly less fatigued.
