BIOSENSOR AND METHOD FOR DETECTING SAXITOXIN USING GREEN FLUORESCENCE PROTEIN(GFP) GENE

PURPOSE: A biosensor and method for detecting saxitoxin using green fluorescence protein(GFP) gene are provided, thereby easily and accurately detecting saxitoxin. CONSTITUTION: A biosensor for detecting saxitoxin(STX) is Escherichia coli transformed with a green fluorescence protein(GFP) gene. A method for detecting saxitoxin using the biosensor comprises the steps of: inserting the green fluorescence protein(GFP) gene into an expression vector; transforming Escherichia coli with the green fluorescence protein(GFP) gene-cloned expression vector; treating the transformed Escherichia coli with saxitoxin(STX); and measuring the movement of the transformed Escherichia coli using a ultraviolet ray generating device.
