PURPOSE: A voltage controlled oscillator using a complementary transistor is provided to prevent a lowering effect of performance due to parasitic elements of manual elements by reducing the number of manual elements. CONSTITUTION: A variable capacitor portion(110) has a variable capacitor(Cv1) for changing an oscillation frequency. An oscillation amplification portion(120) is formed by complementary field effect transistors(M11,M12) for generating negative impedance and providing capacitance used for determining the oscillation frequency. A buffer amplification portion(130) buffers and amplifies the generated frequency and outputs an output terminal(Po). The variable capacitor portion(110) is formed with a resistance(R11), capacitors(C21,C22), and the variable capacitor(Cv1). The oscillation amplification portion(120) is formed with the complementary field effect transistors(M11,M12), and an inductor(L11). The buffer amplification portion(130) is formed with an inductor(L12), the complementary field effect transistors(M13,M14), and a capacitor(C23).
