PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of heat taking action from a roller, and to improve the cooling efficiency of the roller. SOLUTION: An induction heating mechanism rotatably supported and inducing and heating a roller inside is held in a rest state to the roller. A mechanism inducing coolant, and a spraying mechanism spraying the induced coolant toward an inner peripheral wall of the roller in water drops or spray are provided in the roller. The roller is cooled by latent heat of vaporization generated when the sprayed coolant is contacted with the inner peripheral surface of the roller and vaporized. By using the latent heat of vaporization of the coolant, the roller is efficiently cooled as compared with heat taking action by heat conduction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
