PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a blanking part resulting from the movement of a display image for screen burning prevention from causing burning and afterimage. SOLUTION: An image display device is provided with a memory 24, a PDP (plasma display panel) 26, a read/write controlling means, a display position controlling means and a display size controlling means. The display position controlling means sequentially moves the display position of the display image on the PDP 26 to display positions respectively shown by the display frame 14 in Figures 3 (b), (c), (d) and (e) each time a set time passes and each time input video signals are switched and then to (b) after the (e), thereby completing cyclic movement. The display size controlling means enlarges each of the moved images with magnification M (for example, M=1.05) to include the blanking part resulting from the image movement in the image display area and displays the enlarged display image at the display position of a display frames 32 respectively shown in the Figures 3 (b), (c), (d) and (e).
