<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engine from being stopped by braking action when a vehicle is being braked not by a driving operation under the control of an inter-vehicle distance radar or the like and to make an engine brake work effectively when the vehicle is controlled to a braked condition. <P>SOLUTION: The engine speed is monitored and a transmission is automatically controlled to a neutral state as the engine speed is lowered by braking control and approaches idling speed at which the engine brake is no longer working. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
