SCANNER AND DOCUMENT POSITION OPTIMIZING CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem of a conventional scanner that it takes time to set a document to an accurate position and accurate read of the document is not secured because the document may be shifted from a fixed position at the time when a user releases his or her hold from the document after setting the document. SOLUTION: Different angles of inclination of a platen 12 are given at a point of time when the document should be placed on a platen surface and a point of time when the document placed on the platen surface should be read, and the platen 12 is so inclined that a document set reference point 32 set on the platen surface may be lowest at a point of time when the document should be placed on the platen surface.
